Read or Listen: Genesis 2
Starting a new job in a new line of work is a unique experience. Hopeful expectations, excitement and anxiety all swirl together as we try to imagine what might happen. It’s good to remind yourself that you are there for a purpose, and your boss hired you because he thinks you can do it. A good boss wants your career to start off with a win, his job is to make sure the challenges don’t outstrip your learning and confidence. You may not think you are ready for some of the new tasks - but your boss actually knows more about the job, and your ability than you do.
The second chapter of Genesis gives us a brief glimpse into the plans and patterns God had in mind when creating the man and the world. Before we learn anything about the differences between good and evil, we see a contrast between “good” and “not good”. Creation was good, but the man being alone is not good.
