Read or Listen: Genesis 11:1-9, Acts 2

If you have never left your hometown or home state, you may be shocked to realize that people in other parts of the country speak very differently from you. Depending on where you live, a carbonated beverage may be called soda, pop, tonic, or coke - despite what flavor that particular drink might be. 

Different trades and job sites are similar to different geographical areas in that regard. They have their own jargon - their own set of words and terms to describe certain things. Before I began working in the cabinet business, I probably would have needed an interpreter to understand conversations about “skin” “toe” “shoe” “knife” “bump” “patch” “crayon”. There’s even more specific lingo at the company level.
