Read or Listen: Genesis 3, Luke 15:11-32
Nobody wants to stay in an entry level job forever. We all appreciate being rewarded for our growing expertise and responsibility. The value of an entry level job is that it gives us a path to get to the next place on our journey. The frustration arises when we don’t feel like we are getting where we want to be quickly enough.
To give us some perspective, imagine coming to work for a new company in a new field, expecting to be trained for quite some time. But instead, the CEO brings you into his office, and hands you the keys to the entire business. As a kid, that sort of fantasy might have appealed to us, because we see the benefits of the position, the fancy office, a nice house, a nice car, the respect and admiration of our peers.
